EMDR Intensives
for New Moms
Hey mama, I see you. Motherhood is beautiful, but it can also bring up a lot—especially if you’ve been through a tough birth, pregnancy loss, or a postpartum experience that didn’t go as planned. If you’re feeling stuck in anxiety, guilt, or lingering trauma, EMDR intensives can help you process those heavy emotions and find relief faster than traditional weekly therapy. That means just a day or two of planning—figuring out therapy, childcare, and everything else on your plate. No dragging things out for months—just deep, focused healing so you can feel more present, grounded, and connected with your baby (and yourself). You don’t have to carry this alone. Healing is possible, and you deserve it.
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is based on the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) theory that everyone has innate systems in the brain naturally geared towards health. However, disruptions to the brain’s processing systems, such as trauma, loss, or ongoing stress, result in memories that are inadequately processed and maladaptively stored in the brain. These type of pathogenic memories are triggered by present stimuli (think similar feelings, thoughts, sensations) and the brain responds to the present as if it were the past. Memories can contribute to pathology in many mental disorders categorized in the DSM, such as anxiety, depression, etc. Therefore, EMDR is effective in treating many concerns beyond PTSD.
Choosing an EMDR intensive session over weekly therapy may be beneficial if you want to make significant progress in a shorter timeframe or focus deeply on a specific issue without interruptions. Intensives allow for extended, concentrated sessions that can lead to faster breakthroughs compared to the slower pace of weekly therapy. They are ideal for those with busy schedules, new parents, individuals seeking immediate relief, or clients who prefer a more immersive therapeutic experience.
